'A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night' reduction linocut print.

A three colour reduction print (red/teal/black) on Somerset Satin 250gsm paper, printed by hand using a Slama baren with Caligo oil-based ink. It measures approximately 56cm x 72cm so it's quite big. A small signature and edition number will be found underneath each print. The edition is very small with only twelve prints in all.

The print session was fraught and spread over two months; I was using a press initially but ended up using a baren to print the three layers. This involved physically aiding the ink transfer from lino to paper using a lot of continuous pressure. As a result there are small print irregularities throughout the run with small variations and tiny marks. There is a texture in places to the way the ink has transferred to the paper, if you look closely in the pictures you'll be able to see this. The reverse of the prints have marks from repeatedly applying pressure to the paper. If you are unsure please contact me for more photos and be aware these prints are hand-made so please don't expect digitally clean images. This is all part of the charm of linocut printmaking!
