Autumn Almanac print

£75.00 - £100.00 / Sold Out

I was commissioned by the Margate Mercury to create a linocut illustration for their seasonal almanac feature. This is the Autumn Almanac print which draws on the local flora and fauna of Thanet during the autumn months specifically the migratory coastal birds that fly to Kent at this time of the year - the Daring Dozen - including Oystercatchers and Brent Geese. The illustration incorporates a section of the popular Walpole Bay Tidal Pool and the surrounding rock pools and cliff faces.

It's a three colour linocut print created using two linoleum blocks from a run of one hundred measuring approximately 46.5cm x 36.5 cm printed on Zerkall printmaking paper (150gsm) with Caligo oil-based ink. A small signature and edition number can be found underneath each print.

Each print may vary ever-so slightly as they are printed by hand. It's all part of the charm of linocut printmaking but see below for more details!

I'll be selling these in two tiers;

First tier - There may be tiny registration anomalies (see photos) but these will be the best prints from the run.

Second tier - These will have small printing issues for example looser registration, tiny ink marks in the border or lighter ink coverage in coloured sections BUT they will look good enough to frame and display and will still be part of the numbered series. The reason I do this is because I don't like unnecessary waste and often people tell me they like the aesthetic of a slightly wonky linocut print. If in doubt email me for specifics or photos.
