£10.00

'Beryl and the Kern Baby' linocut print.

Continuing the 'Beryl and Huxley' series this print features the wee witch dancing with a Kern Baby to celebrate the end of the harvest period. In folklore Kern Babies or Corn Maidens were commonly made from the last sheaf of corn gathered from the harvest and dressed in a child's christening gown. They were often kept until the beginning of the next sowing period when they'd be burnt and scattered over the fields to ensure a good harvest for the year ahead.

Printed on Ho Sho Japanese paper with Caligo oil-based ink and individually painted in watercolours from an edition of 100.

Each print may vary ever-so slightly as they are printed by hand.
Paper size is 11cm x 14cm.
