An Alphabet of Folkloric Beasts letter R

£35.00

From an occasional series An Alphabet of Folkloric Beasts this is the letter R featuring folkloric beasts from around the world including my illustrated interpretations of a Rokurokubi (Japanese long-necked trickster), a Radande (Swedish tree spirit), a Redcap (English nasty goblin-like creature), a Raijū (Japanese lightning spirit), a Rakshasa (Hindu shape-shifting spirit) and various smaller plants with Folkloric links. Each print will include a brief description of each creature and plant featured.

The artwork is a linocut print I've made for a Kent Printmakers A-Z
exhibition at Sevenoaks Museum later on this year. A two colour reduction print measuring approximately 36cm x 27cm printed on Ho Sho Japanese paper with Caligo oil-based ink. A small signature and edition number will be found underneath each print from an edition of 20.

Each print may vary ever-so slightly as the nature of linocut printmaking dictates.
