'Nina Simone' linocut print

In 2018 I made a linocut series 'An Alphabet of Musicians' featuring the likes of Sun Ra, MF DOOM, Iggy Pop, Bjork, PJ Harvey, Tom Waits and more. Unfortunately I had to leave a lot out so I'm sporadically adding to the series. This is a three layer reduction linocut print measuring approximately 28cm x 28cm printed on Ho Sho Japanese paper with Caligo oil-based ink. In addition I've added some watercolour to Nina's headscarf - the beautiful dress/headscarf pattern was a big part of making this print - as well as loving her records of course. If you get a chance watch the documentary 'What Happened, Miss Simone?' as it's a fascinating insight into one of the best singers/musicians/artists of all time.
A small signature and edition number (from a run of 20 prints) can be found underneath each print.
