'The Owl and the Pussycat' linocut print
£40.00
'The Owl and the Pussycat' linocut print.
Inspired by the Edward Lear poem of the same name I created this illustrated print for the wonderful Festival of Cats exhibition April 2024.
"The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!"
A two layer multiblock print on Canaletto Velino 160gsm white paper, printed with Caligo oil-based ink. The paper measures approximately 25 x 35cm. A small signature and edition number is located at the bottom of the print. The edition run is seventy-five.
Each print may vary ever-so slightly as they are printed by hand. It's all part of the charm of linocut printmaking but see below for more details.
